| TRANSPORT | Nowadays it is not just a case of getting to the church on time, more get me to the church in style. You might well be going to the chapel and going to get married and all that la la la singing stuff but listen, do it with a little style, a little grace. Or just be damn right outrageous.
These are your final moments of freedom so lets try and do it with a little panache.
| GET ME TO THE CHURCH ON TIME, OR ANY TIME TODAY
When looking at transport there is one thing you need. Reliability is the name of the game. It's all very well looking the bee's knees in a 1940s Rolls Royce but if the owner hasn't maintained his pride and joy the only think you will be rolling up in will be into a ball to hide from the shame!!
Recommendation is always a safe place to start so if any of your friends have tied the knot ask them what they thought of their transport. Ask around and find out whose got a good reputation in your area.
| MY FAYRE LADY
Visit Wedding Fayres because nine times out of ten there will be wedding cars lined up out the front of the venue, constantly being polished to look their best. Ask about the cars, take a look inside them. Sometimes the insides are not quite as you would imagine. Ask the owner how many vehicles he has because don't forget your bridal party may also need a vehicle.
If you can't make it to a Wedding Fayre ask for photos or better still ask to visit so you can see the cars for yourself. After all, many of us would not know a Silver Shadow from a Bentley at the best of times.
| WHAT CAR?
So a reliable vehicle it is. But what vehicle? The traditional beautiful old car teamed with a smartly dressed chauffeur will always be a winner at weddings but you can try something a little different.
| DARE TO BE DIFFERENT
No comments about you looking like the back end of a bus but you could be doing the Summer Holiday thing and arrive on a vintage double decker bus, or perhaps brave the British weather and plump for a horse and cart.
Perhaps have a double decker bus to chauffeur you guests from the venue to the church so they don't have to worry about parking and acts as an ice breaker and introduces people to each other early on.
| THEME IT!
If your dress is 40s, team it with a 40s vehicle, 60s style retro dress and perhaps you could turn up in an open top beetle.
If you are daring be like Daisy and give him your answer do on the back of a bike - a Harley Davidson that is!!
